Kettering Town assistant manager Tommy Jaszczun says he is delighted with his new role at the club. The ex-Northampton Town defender joined the Poppies in 2007, and after a spell at Corby, has returned to Rockingham Road as a player-coach.
Jaszczun told BBC Radio Northampton: "I was surprised but honoured. [Manager] Lee Harper will do the hands-on stuff and I will work on the team spirit.
"As assistant, you can still have a good relationship with the players."
We want to put together a good, well organised side and see where it takes us

The 32-year-old, who will also provide cover at left-back for the Poppies, added: "If things go well - if we get a settled team and I don't need to play - then that's all well and good.
"But I'm doing pre-season training and hopefully getting some run-outs."
The role represents Jaszczun's first coaching post in professional football, while player-manager Lee Harper will be guiding the Poppies for his first full season in 2010/11.
"We're inexperienced but it's exciting for myself and Lee," Jaszczun said. "We want to put together a good, well organised side and see where it takes us."
